About

Cheer Gardens is a 10 acre farm with fruits, vegetables, bees, and chickens. The farm is  located 7 miles outside Carrboro/ Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The land is rich with native flora, a spring fed pond and many winding creeks.

Cheer Gardens Farm is maintained and run by horticulturist/gardener Cherrie Tchir. Cherrie has over 25 years gardening experience. She has a BS in horticulture with honors  from NC State University. Cherrie is also certified in Permaculture design.

Cherrie grows and propagates herbs, flowers, vegetables, mushrooms, perennials (native and non native) in her pesticide/herbicide free gardens.

Cheer Gardens is a small scale consultation, design,  install and maintenance gardening company specializing in small garden spaces, container gardens, raised bed, edible, pollinator and specialty gardens.

“My goal is to provide knowledgeable, dependable and personalized attention to designing, installing and maintaining your personal garden space and by keeping in tune with the natural world I use techniques that are environmentally friendly, sustainable and ecologically responsible to provide a happy, safe and comfortable connection to your outside landscape.”

Cherrie runs a market style and box CSA. Her customers receive an e-mail list of what is available for the week and pick up is now available on the farm during weekdays. Sign up by sending me an email to receive your weekly emails.

Cherrie will also custom design flower arrangements for any occasion.

Cherrie is committed to promoting and educating people about the joy and healing properties of plants, nature and gardening as a means to develop and sustain the essential rhythm and connection of people to plants and the environment through education of environmental stewardship, community development, and home gardening.
