About

Cheer Gardens is a 10,000 sqft. market garden  located 7 miles outside Carrboro/ Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The land is rich with native flora, a spring fed pond and many winding creeks.

The garden is maintained and run by horticulturist/gardener Cherrie Tchir. Cherrie has over 20 years gardening experience. She has a BS in horticulture with honors  from NC State University. Cherrie is also certified in Permaculture design.

Cherrie grows and propagates herbs, vegetables, perennials and native flora in her pesticide/herbicide free gardens.

Cherrie operates a small scale design, install and maintenance gardening service in the triangle area.

Cherrie is committed to promoting and educating people about the joy and healing properties of plants, nature and gardening as a means to develop and sustain the essential rhythm and connection of people to plants and the environment through education of environmental stewardship, community development, and home gardening.
